What kind of boots do the middle and right guy have on?

Winter overshoes?

Maybe the GI in the middle is a recent replacement. Looks like he has his overcoat over his haversack per spec. And he is clean shaven. The other guys have the "been there done that got the Purple Heart to prove it" look.

Guy on the right looks like he has double buckles while guy on the left has service shoes and leggings. Also web sling on the right Garand.

GI on the left has his haversack packed to the gills.
