1938 Model Turkish Mauser - questions, questions...

I do not have any knowledge whatsoever on Mausers, but I was at a small gun show in my local area today, and I spotted a Model 1938 Turkishicon Mauser that was marked on the receiver with "Ankara" and "K.Kale" and dated 1942. It was for sale for $180. As I have no idea about these rifles, but would like, at some point, to own one (what can I say - I like guns), I was wondering if there are any particular things to look out for. The rifle looked cosmetically reasonable, and a label said the rifle was chambered for the 7mm round. Is this scarse ammunition?

If it's a 1938 Turkishicon Mauser, it should be 8mm. Earlier models could be 7.57x53 which is not 7mm Mauser. Any marked 1938 should be original 8mm or rebored to 8mm.

7.57x53 will be almost impossible to get commercially and expensive.
7mm Mauser can be found but is in the neighborhood of $28 a box
8mm Mauser can still be purchased surplus so is by far the cheapest of the three. Commercial rounds will be a little less than the 7mm Mauser.
