    Who made buttplates?

Outside of Riesch's examples for Standard Products and Grand Rapids, who made buttplates?

Did any of the primary contractors make their own buttplates? Who made QHMC's buttplates?

Ruth's tabulations are conspicuously absent in this regard.

After some "research", the correct term is "butt plate" and not "buttplate" which more naturally combines the two consequtive nouns into a single noun (like "buttstock"). English is strange. Probably been staring at this too long
