    Not a Bubba

BSA Mod E - The Stalking Directory Photo Gallery

If the link is good this is a pic of my latest acquisition. It's a BSA Mod E sporting rifle. Built on a P14 by the BSA company in the early 1950's.
Rings and bases are vintage Parker Hale and the scope is a slightly too modern Weaver K4.
It's a nice shooting rifle, and it will be used for deer here in the UKicon. It's already accounted for one fox.

That follows, I've seen #1 and #4s that were factory converted and looked perfect. I would rather have one of those than have to mod one. It would have no flaws and shoot great.
    Regards, Jim

Sorry for the long delay in replying Rich, I don't get on here often these days. I'm currently using a load with some old 180grn Norma SP bullets I managed to acquire a box of and they are giving about a 2.25" group, which I find acceptable, given the range the rifle will be used at and the limitations of a 4x scope.
I've also got some 130grn and 150 Norma bullets which have shown similar capabilities.
The rifle's been out a few times with me now, but no deer I've encountered while carrying this rifle have presented a safe/useable shot. My main venison provider these days seems to be my Win Mod 70 .243.
