    1911 Commercial to Military Slide

Reference Clawson's little book Page 30, Ref 24. Clawson doesn't eleborate on these C to M slides other than circa may-June 1918. I am looking at one in the 337xxx range but the slide is bluer than the frame. Is this because the slide would have been made prior to the "Black Army" finishing process?????????

The slide would have been refinished after the roll mark Model of 1911 U.S. ARMY was added and dressed back down. Slide may not be original to receiver.

I sure don't. It certainly makes an interesting variation.
