Thanks mine appears to be real. Why would someone go to the trouble and cost to make a fake when the cost of an orginal is not that high?

1st gunbroker example ia a fake? Looks like mine. Ebay examples really look fake. All the positive feed back for the seller.

A real "EW" safety will fetch a great deal. I don't believe any of the listed safeties are real. If there is one it would be the first one listed. If it is on eBay or GB and is anywhere near the central west coast, it is fake.

Kick out a 100 @ say $50 each= $5,000
No real overhead to speak of once the fake "EW" stamp is made.
The harder to find marked ones bring bigger dollars yet.

I happen to have one of George's EW not "EW" marked safeties in my junk box. saving it to remind me not to do business with George.

I have an original 5.6 Win with push safety, the "EW" is larger and sharper struck than any of the fakes shown. A genuine would probably fetch close to $100. Consider those are probably Chinese cast parts costing George about $1 apiece, he's making a killing at any price.

The feedback issue has always bothered me but look at it this way, the seller never really makes any claims of originality, authenticity or it being genuine. How do you leave negative feedback when you can't gripe because it isn't what it's claims are? Plus, there are a lot of people that will not leave negative feedback because they don't wish to cause waves.
