My Mystery Gun ... help ID?

Ian I have one for you I believe it's a shot gun. Everyone who has looked at it has a different opinion Some say it's 10 guage, but not everyone is in agreement on that or what she is worth, or even what she really is I defy any of you to put a permanent label on this girl. I'll tell you this much 1885 and National Arms company OK you have the ball run with it

I used to shoot trap with a fellow in Colorado who had a 12ga. trap gun built on a Martini action. Yours looks similar and is probably a gunsmith made piece.

If it's answerable, that would be correct Paul. If not, then I don't know what to say. People's time responding to help requests is offered free by them, as is the site itself. Perhaps you should cast the net wider and post the pics around the Internet on other sites and see what you can find?

Ian is an Enfield expert and that critter sure isn't an Enfield, so he's probably got nothing much he can add ....

As Emri said, it also looks like some kind of Martini rifle "miss-mash" to me, but I'm a K98k collector, so I really don't know ...

Just to add my 2c worth - can you find any trace of Belgian proof marks? The stock style with the blobby pistol grip was very popular in Belgium.
Just post pics of any markings you can find - someone will be able to identify them, or at least narrow down the choice.
