    auction sites

I am seeing a lot of nice collectable stuff at reasonable prices on the auction sites but no one bids on them. Is it just me or is the collectable firearms market drying up

    Great question ....

Law of supply and demand usually dictates rising prices, but that can be affected by the state of the economy and sometimes the time of the year.

When you combine all of that with a declining number of collectors, again for a whole bunch of reasons, it's possible we're seeing a fundamental shift in both values and available buyers.

    Just my two cents ..

    Regards,
    Doug

I think right now it's the time of the season. Everyone's broke buying gifts for everyone else. December and January seem to always be bad for everyone. And it doesn't pick up in my area till tax refunds come back, and then it's game on.

I've bought a few of Auction Arms when I could get them reasonable enough, but the last few weeks I'm just trying to survive economically and buy gifts for my family for Christmas and be sure they have a place to live next month...

Just looked at the prices of a auction held a month or so ago in Ontario, a Envoy went for $1,500.00 but a LEC carbine dated 1902 for $675.00. I agree money is tight and some prices seem high and others a very good deal. There are guns forsale on CGN that are just sitting there, no takers as I can't think of a worse time to try sell your gun unless the price is very good or the gun is very desireable.
Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?
