    Lee Enfield extractor issue

I have an odd problem with my SMLE #1 MKIII. The gun functions perfectly. As long as there is no extractor installed. When I install the extractor in the breechblock head the bolt will only go about 3/4 of the way in.

Should I just replace the entire bolt or what? I'm only planning this as a display model-- had to put a few rounds through it just for fun -- but I would like it to be correct.

You'll need to elaborate a bit Mr Librarian. When you say it'll only go 3/4 the way in.......... exactly what do you mean? The bolt will only travel 3/4 the way down the bolt way or the extractor will only go 3/4 the way into the extractor ramp in the barrel? If it's the former then........ If it's the latter, have you tried another extractor? It could be coming up against a deep burr, caused by a former defective extractor
