    1947 Poole

    No. 5 Mk1 bayonet.
    Note that doggone "B" showing up again, in the strangest places.

    not at all sure about that 'B' marking , but that is a nice poole no5 , and mine of the same date is marked exactly so ,

    On the minus side Limpet, it wouldn't be acceptable like that to us. It needs to be stripped, grip screws replaced in the holes, catch screw and nut put back less the spring then bead blasted, phosphated and painted.

    I know shiny bayonets did exist but the Equipment regulations of 1940 decreed that the days of shiny bayonets were finished. They were to be clean and dulled with the paint line extending down to an inch or so below the crosspiece
