Unhappy Loose rearsight on my Underwood

    Hi all,

i had to remove my old rear sight from my M1icon Carbine because it was broken. Now i´ve purchased a new/old Underwood rearsight but this one won´t hold tight. It is wandering from the left to the right and back after any shot. Whats your advice to fix it without welding, drilling or similar things?

    Thank you much in advance!

Stake the dove tail with a center punch to tighten. Do be a little careful, if you hit it with a big hammer you can break it. This was the approved GI method, and does work.

You might want to use some removable glue to allow you to sight in without the sight moving. Mark the sight and dovetail, remove/clean. Put sight back in to the mark and stake in place. You might have to tighten up the receiver dovetail as above.
