    Metal aging

I'm posting a new thread on how to age the new ramrod I received for my thrift store found musket. I know in that thread I asked the question but did not get any feedback on how, but just that it need to be done. And I agree. The barrel is a brown color and the sights( that are not here yet ) look to be a black(in pictures) so is there something I have to do with them as well? thanks in advance dave.

There are a lot of different browning solutions. I like Dangler's browning. Jim Klein makes it.

If you want to go cheap. just degrease it and wet it down with bleach. Leave it in a humid place.

I'm a big fan of Laurel Mountain Forge browning solution - track of the wolf carries it.
