    Early Atchisson 22lr conversion kit

I have one of the original conversion kits. As most familiar with this kit know, the orginal 'cork' (i think that what it was made of) buffer deteriorates over the years. I have heard of people fabricating a leather or other buffer--any ideas or experience woudl be helpful. An old post on this forum mentinoed a leather buffer but could use some more details on crafting.

Also, if anyone is interested in this piece as collectible, i'd be willing to negotiate a sale with it and start over with a contemporary version. Mine has at least 6 magazines and two or three of the 'skeletal' magazines

    your assistance/advice is appreciated

    John

    Question The same problem

I also have one of those. Although I don't want to shoot a lot of .22 rimfire through my AR, I would like to get my conversion kit shootable. So do you have any good workable answers.

Cork is available in bulk at Home Depot and such places. Why can't you re-fabricate the buffer?
