WRA 30M1 carbine value

I appologize in advance as I'm sure you guys get tired of this question.

I have to thin the herd a little and I have a Winchester carbine I may be selling that I need to determine the value, best guess anyway.

The carbine: This is an all correct and original early WRA carbine that I purchased sometime ago.
The serial number is 10970xx and it is in 99% condition.

It has its original high I cut wood stock , flip sight , barrel band and so on.
It also is a spring tube model.

I know some will doubt that it is an original unmolested carbine.
I'm doubtfull when someone claims that as well, but please humor me and lets just say it is
and its in excellent /new condition given its age.

Whats a fair ball park price on it?

If it is what you say then $1000 is not out of the question.The CMP was selling mix master service grade Winnies for I think $700 when they had them.

I sold a similar one over a year ago, at a gun show where I had a table, for $1200. I put a price of $1500 on it and some guy came by, barely looked at it, asked what would I take. Told him $1200, thinking he was BS'ing, and he forked it out, saying "I don't have one with a push button safety"! Put yours on Gunbroker, with lots of good pictures and no telling what it will go for.

I would guess that if it is as you say- it will go for much more than $1000. Service grade Winchester Carbines were $695 from CMP when they had them. These were mixmasters. So a totally correct one today in good condition would be way over $1000 - just my opinion.

Condition is everything. If it is in fact complete and original and in excellent shape the price could be a lot, $2000+ The pieces that the well to do collectors want are like new condition pieces and they pay a premium for the best stuff, a big premium. Look at it this way: you can have what everyone else has for $1200 but for maybe 40% more you can have something that very few people have, these are the pieces that really gain in value.

This is an exceptional early WRA carbine, I have never seen another early Winchester as nice.

The WRA rebuilds the CMP was selling are no where near the same class as this carbine and are not a fair comparison.

I have this WRA and an original late 6 mil WRA .

I plan to thin the heard down to one of each manufacturer and I cant bring myself to shoot either but if I did it would be the late gun not this one.

That is why if I sell this one is the one that would go along with some duplicate M1 Garands.

I'm thinking 2000.00 to 2500.00 is about right.

FYI I paid good money for it years ago and the gent I purchased it from (now deceased) owned it for at least thirty years.
