It's a 30 rounder,yes? I've had lots of them. They were made from the mid 70s to the mid 80s and they are the only contractor to have lost it's contract. They mixed in rejects with passed mags and things like unsatisfactory welding was noticed. Mine had all been through the mill so the rejects had been weeded out. Inspect before buying.

Avoid like plague. I bought some new in wrap long ago. All were out of spec. some wildly so, not fitting in the mag well at all. The ones that would (with a little hand-fitting) I kept but eventually sold. The ones that wouldn't (and I mean not even a little) I cannibalized for followers, springs, and floorplates and set the tubes out on a railroad track.

+1. In the late 80s, early 90s when I had an FFL and did gunshows 3 weekends out of 4, I used to see them often. Since I built and sold ARs then (old SGW and PWA receivers) I sold LOTS of mags. I would find they were too tight to fit in the magazine well. They were junk.

The company used to be in Ohio and Pennsylvania. By 1980 it had moved to California and I had a document from the government on the recall of these magazines. I copied the document and sent it out with my SGN sales.

The only record I have for the magazines shows 1980. I never saw them in the early days of the 1970's.

I've got three of them that were given to me. Two malfunction a lot! One runs fine. As BAR stated, they were a contract supplier once upon a time. Poor quality magazines.

I HAVE done that myself. Sometimes I just threw them downrange and shot them. In extreme, I had a Squires Bingham .22 that wouldn't function (M16 lookalike) and after spending an inordinate amount of time with it I unloaded it and threw it downrange and shot it with an Aussie F.N. Very satisfying...
