I just bought a new carbine, How did I do?

Garand, SA Late Post-War, Correct Grade : Curios and Relics at GunBroker.com


It looks a little longer than the others I have seen pictures of. Will I have to cut it down some to make it the right length? I know I can send the stock to P7, I know he can make it look right. Use that Rock-Ola butt plate too.
Thrity people on the carbine forum and this is the best we can come up with?

I'd probably start by cutting in the slingwell........... I cut or Oval?
As a side note, I hope you've got a exact price for that remodeling going on at your place.
We.......... Ummmhhhh, I mean those contractors really enjoy nailing you for the big $$ on any change orders.
Are you gonna try De-greasing that in the Turkey deep fryer?

I think you got taken. That's one of the worst reproduction carbines I've seen. You should invest in "George's Carbine reproduction recognition" books.

Congratulations on a steal, bubba! Too bad these clods don't know about the one-off experimental Caliber .30-'06 'Super Carbine' that SA was developing. It was always diguised in photographs to resemble the M1 Rifle. This single prototype was thought lost for many years until it recently surfaced after the passing of the Chief Inspector at SA, going for $4,927,380 at auction. It was to use black-tipped AP ammo to penetrate the thin armor on Jap tanks, but the war ended before it went into production.
