    Question M1A1 Carbine Value?

    Hello …

I'm currently running an ad in the Quartermaster Stores:

    M1A1 Inland Carbine

I know they're more popular in the U.S., but I'm located in Canadaicon and I'm not really that sure as to a fair market valuation on this piece, so I thought I'd ask some of the very experienced carbine collectors in this forum.

I'd appreciate any feedback as to what you you think would be a fair asking price.

    Thanks ...

That looks like a very nice example of an early M1A1icon. If it was mine, I'm thinking 4k, starters..... Frank
P.S. were do you "Canucks'"get these?

I'm guessing that there's no way this M1A1icon can be purchased by an American and sent to the U.S.?

It was done for quicker site in when in combat, I have seen it before. And I can understand why.

That field modification rear sight has some appeal. I would rather have that then have it replaced with an adj sight.

Several of us here have originals with sights like that.
I would not hesitate one bit to buy one with that done to the sight.

A lot of soldiers grew up hunting with "buckhorn" sights. So that type of modification would make sence. It's still the sight that came with the gun. I would leave it.....Frank
