Since it's the one hundred year anniversary of the adoption of the classic US M1911 I decided to celebrate by liberating a '43 Colt 1911A1 from a local hockshop. Here are some pics.

Thanks for your comments. The Colt showed up at a local hockshop and I was very happy to snag it.

Have you checked behind the firing pin stop plate to see if the slide is numbered to the receiver, and what is the marking on the bottom of the barrel ahead of the lug?
