    CMP stock set problem

I recently purchased one of the new stock sets from the CMPicon. I am having trouble getting the front hand guard to fit into the lower band. It seems like the wood has not been shaped thin enough for the hand guard to fit in. Is it okay to try lightly sanding to get it to fit or is there an easier way.

Nevermind, I got it! Just a little judicious sanding and a few taps with a ball peen hammer and it went it.

Always helps to have a bigger hammer at hand! I have one of those semi mallets that is plastic on one side and hard rubber on the other for such jobs.
