    Help with some markings

I just acquired a czech 8mm mauser recently, its the post war type with the funny oversized triggerguard. Its maked with a T in a circle on the left side of the receiver as well as other place. Anyone knows what type of marking it is? Some proof mark?

    thanks

    Markings

T in a Circle was a Steyr Proof Mark.
    Maybe ex 1912 Mauser Action?

Here's pictures of the rifle and markings

There's the 2 circled t (on the left side) and also a ''Se3" mark under the serial number. No lions proof marks that i can find.

This looks like a WWII rework, done 1945-46? The Czechs inherited a pile of Germanicon Mod 98 rifles, parts, barrels and receivers. You now have one. They assembled them and sold on the worls market, many going into the Middle East. Has it been reblued by someone recently? Not sure. Czechicon marking for sure.

The circled T is a Czechicon marking, probably an inspection mark. This quote refers to the same marking on a Czech-modified Mosin Nagant.

The M91/38 will have an additional stamp of a circle T. This is a very well known Czech marking.
