I recieve this H&R Garand from the CMP today

I am astonished at the condition of this rifle, it is like new. The reciever shows almost no wear marks from the bolt or op rod, the muzzle is 1 and the throat is 2. There isn't any carbon buildup on the gas port and the rest of the rifles finish is perfect. The most amazing thing was the stock, absolutely beautifull, with hardly any handling marks, matching upper and lower handguard and a very sharp DAS. It is a service grade H&R and if not for the SA bolt and trigger assembly it would be all correct. I am extremely happy with my CMPicon rifle. I spent almost three hours tonight removing the cosmolineicon, I had a most enjoyable time doing it, especially when I saw the result. My hat is off to the CMP. Here are a few pictures taken in bad flourecent light, I may take a couple more tomorrow in the daylight.

Nice rifle. Nice SA stock too. Would be a super simple "restoration" if you felt like doing it.

I'm getting ready to order a service grade Garandicon from CMPicon. The ones posted on the CMP forum as well indicate both the Springfiellds and H&Rs are nearly new condition.

My HRA I recently got from the CMPicon is just like yours, but an HRA stock. They had some awesome ones in and you also got one!
