    No4 Transit chest plans

My dad wanted something to do so I have asked him to build me a transit chest for one of the no4s I have. I have had a look at the plans on this site but they are too small for him ( and me ) to be able to use them. Does anyone have a bigger version of plans ?
    thanks in advance !

I don't suppose there is someone from Melbourne / Victoria that will let me measure one up?

The ones in here wouldn't work for you, even when you expanded the pics to full size?

Blueprints and Specifications for the Enfield No.4 Mk1(T) Sniper Rifle

    Blueprints for Chest S.A. No.15 Mk1

Note: After you click on images to ENLARGE them, you may find they automatically size smaller in your browser's window making them harder to view. The auto sizing is your browser's way of keeping images entirely within the screen size you have set. Move your mouse pointer to the bottom centre of the pic and you will see an options panel appear. There will be a small square box next to the large X, which will have a pointer arrow sticking out of it. If it's illuminated, it means the pic you're viewing can be enlarged, so click on this box and the pic will EXPAND and open to its normal size. Low quality pics shown in article and are for illustrative purposes only. Usually, the quality of the images within the drawings of the PDF file download are much greater.

    Regards,
    Doug

Thanks Doug. These are the ones I started with and even expanded I am not 100% confident of being able to read the sizes correctly, hence wanting to run a tape measure over a physical one.
Given the options, I think I will just have to do my best.
    Appreciate the help.

Yea, using my bi-focals (I'm getting old ... ), they are a little fuzzy and you'd have to go over each dimension with it blown up, using a mag glass. May someone will at some point re-do these for us to be clearer.

    Doug

XA - send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you something that may help.
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

The L49 didn't have a transit chest. It came in a steel cage that you could feed into the chamber of the 120mm anti tank gun
