    No5's Paint work

    G'day guys.
    Just wondering what was painted and what was not painted on a No5.

    All metalwork except threads, backsight axis pin and stock bolt, bolt body and trigger and sear axis pins. THese were left phosphate. As a result the phosphated but semi assembled rifle used to go through the paint plant and come out. Things like butt stock wood screws and the little odds and sods would be painted on racks. THat's how we did them in their hundreds
