Question Winchester Pattern 14 Sniper Rifle - $5,750 U.S. (SOLD)

Here's one for sale that you can compare to our own Pattern 1914 Mk1* W (T) Sniper Rifle (click here) entry in the England section (click here) of the Milsurp Knowledge Libraryicon.

Note the khaki (not Karki) camo paint job on the Salter piece compared to our library entry, plus the lack of original scope covers, original 1913 ME Co. sling and matching scope can. Salter also indicates that only 1500 were built, which conflicts with Skennerton's calculations of 2,001 conversions by Periscopic Prism Co. Ltd.

    Feedback and comments anyone?

Joe Salter - Winchester Pattern 14 Sniper Rifle (click here)

    Price: US $5750.00

The British Pattern sniper rifle built by Winchester. The stock is punched "1W" in a circle showing winchester production with a 5 point star and broad arrow over "Pat. 14". Rifle serial No. 278522 and matching stock with the scope marked No. 187771 and "Periscopic Prism Co. Ltd/makers London" and a broad arrow over "1918 model." The left frame shows several British marks including a broad arrow and "England" the glass appears to have 2 internal chips. The scope is blued with all metal on the rifle British Karki Camo paint. Bright excellent bore with the wood showing the dings and bruises. A military rifle. This is the (t) model with long range sight removed. Only an estimated 1500 built. A rare rifle which probably saw British Service in both WW1 and WW 11.
