Unusual GERMAN tool- need serious help with this one

Years ago my father aquired a 1944 dot mauser rifle and a ww2 cartridge box. inside the cartridge box was a unuaual item. Inside was a capsul approximatly 3 1/2 inches long made of brass and covered in silver, this capsul unscrews in the middle and inside is a punch, blade screw driver, screw type awl and a cork screw. one of the sides has a slot that these tools fit into and when screwed back together it forms a T handle for using the tools. end of capsul is marked F.M. sprewerke AG Germanyicon. i have never seen anything like this, and alot of military guys i have shown it to haven't eather. What it appears to be in my opinion is some kind of german military tool that was issued to troops, but what years is unknown. I have tryed every kind of internet search and keep getting information on P-38's by sprewerke. idea of what years it may have been made is totaly unknown. has anyone ever seen anything like this??????? I currently have lent it to a friend who does military shows so he is trying to find out what it is also????

It sounds like a kit I recently saw for a pistol, but now of course I can't remember where I saw it. Try to get a picture.

Silver (plated?) does not sound like military equipment. And it is almost certainly Spreewerke

    Patrick

P.S: is that perhaps nickel plating?

I hope you manage to get some pics posted. I have found several instances of non-German texts with the misspelling Sprewerke, but no trace in Germanicon of a Sprewerke. Furthemore, all German substantives start with a capital letter, so it would have to be Spre... not spre...

In this connection, may I plead with all those who present unnown markings for identification on these forums: if you cannot produce a photo, then reproduce the text or markings as accurately as you can on the keyboard. This means using capitals, spaces, points, commas and dashes as closely as you can to the original. "sprewerke" cannot be a German noun, so something has been misread, mistyped or abbreviated. Or it is not German (e.g. an imitation).

But these days, it really must be possible to beg, buy or borrow a digital camera and make a couple of good photos!
