carbine safeties, pushbutton or rotary, are interchangeable
Yes, it is very easy also. Depress the plunger and spring (hole in the bottom of the trigger housing behind mag catch) and remove the Mag catch, plunger and spring. Remove the safety. Replace the safety, plunger and spring, depress the spring and slide the mag catch back in and wa-la! Keep in mind there is a mag catch plunger and spring that is in the trigger housing at a right angel you don't want to lose.

"We're surrounded, that simplifies our problem!"
At one time I had some carbines with each type. Quickly realized why the switch. It just takes one unintentional magazine eject to make one like the turn type.

After hunting with an Ithaca 37 for 50 years and never carrying a carbine in combat...I was an m16 guy....I'm not worried about placement of my finger when the fun starts...I'm in new mexico and coyotes are the meanest things I face....In the house I still use a mod 37 with a hastings barrel and # 8 shot...really makes a mess......Hole new term to lighting someone up...The spread at 9 feet is 11"....Three rounds of this and 2 rounds of #1 western buck will stop most conversations....No really, the carbine is a toy for me not a tool...I still like the tap on the button....If I drop a mag by gollie I will feel real stupid but no worst for wear.I have never used more than 6 rounds to stop a coyote .Charlie

OK ....now where to buy the parts.....Charlie
I preferred the push safety because I carried an 870 as an LEO shotgun. Last time I was shooting, though, I actually dropped the mag by accident. First time in 25 years, but I would have hated to have it happen in a social situation! Switched to an Inland marked flip the next day
Check the length of the spring, when I changed my 4xx,xxx Inland back to a push button I had to change to a shorter[softer] spring.
