    Type 1A swivel marked "UP"

There is a Type 1A swivel currently offered on eBay that is marked "UP" . It looks very much like a recent stamp on a genuine (previously unmarked) swivel. Did Irwin Pedersen ever mark their swivels this way? Or, did I-P have that "UP mark on the band, rather than the swivel. The Reisch reference is not clear on this point.

Thanks for the pic of the real one. This is the link of the current (swivel only) offering on eBay M1 Carbine Swivel Coded UP NICE!!!!!!!!! - eBay (item 130529879066 end time Jun-12-11 14:18:29 PDT) Even before seeing your photo, I was thinking the same as phillydude -- that the font lines were just too sharp and crisp for a 68-year-old piece, indicating a recent strike on what looks to be a genuine 1A swivel. Now that I see your real one, I can see the definite difference in font shape and line width. Modesto Menace strikes again!

Mike, your UP swivel appears to be in the white. May I ask the serial number range and barrel date on this one?

Why do the bogus parts makers have to top it off with grease, or lint? Geeze.
