    Unknown CLLE carbine

This rifle started life as Long Lee Mk1* (1901) and was converted to CLLE mk 1* (1908). At sometime it was converted to carbine length and Mosinish sling holes added. It only has british proof marks and sold out of service stamps. Interesting little firearm.

Following WW1 the Britishicon had over 40,000 troops in Russiaicon during the Russian Civil War - could this be a rifle from that period?

There was a thread on Gunboards with photos of a similar arm in use in the Baltic states.
