This gear was used by Private Edward J. Tilghman in WWI.
The pigment of the red paint on the helmet had faded, as red seems to do with age. The tunic is still in excellent condition with no mothing and all the insignia is original to it.
The only information I've found is the below. I don't know for certain if it's the same person, but the names match as does the date. I found some other matches for the name and time period on the internet but it wouldn't give details such as if it has any divisions or service without paying, so this is all I have found so far.
