U.S. Army Mine Detecting info. needed

OK this is something a bit differnt, a complete US Army Mod. P-158 Mine Detection Set. This unit is like new with all nessary parts that all fit into a fitted metal case. I need a "TM" for this unit so I know how to use this cool Army gear.

Looks to be about 1960s to 1980s date and has some extra parts??? that I'm not sure what they're used for.

Anybody ever use one of these units??? Anybody have an idea what this unit is worth????

    Please contact me at: allsw4guy@yahoo.com

    Many thanks,

I used the older mine detecting kits in the Canadianicon army in the 70s. This might be what you're talking about. If you post pics you will get a way better yield on returns. There's lots of guys here that have used this stuff just need the pics to attract them.
    Regards, Jim

    Harlan,
Used them Extensively in Central America and the Gulf War, part 1. They are a great detector for metallic mines, but can slip You up with the little wood and plastic buggers. I might be able to dig up a TM for You. Value is whatever you can get for them. Some pictures are in order for an estimate. Do You have the two little plastic tuning blocks with it?

    Hi Folks,

I will get up some photos ASAP. This unit has 4 plastic tuning blockks, "I think that is what they are". They are colored all red, black, white, and yellow. All the tuning blocks are marked, but I don't know what they do. The ear phones work fine, but I need the 10.4 volt battery to see the whole system working.

    Thanks for the info.
