    Question Maltby vs. Savage

I have both a Maltby & a Savage, same quality almost new, and was wondering which of these is rarer/more valuable and how do they compare to the other manufacturers??
    thanks

Neither is rare and for the same condition they have the same value. They compare equally with other manufacturers.

I agree with Amatikulu, with a few exceptions:

--A Savage MkI (no star) would be rarer and more valuable than a Maltby MkI

--A 1941 Maltby would be rarer and a little more valuable than a Savage MkI*

--A Maltby marked MkI* would be rarer than a Savage MkI*

If none of these applies to the rifles you are talking about, than I would consider them equal.

    Well THANKS!
The Maltby is a 1943 Mk1 while the Savage is a Mk 1*. The Maltby stock is in better shape, almost new, otherwise they metal looks about the same.

Here in Australiaicon Britishicon manufactured No4 bring a premium generally, as we've a lot more LB and Savage No4's than British manufactured ones, American/Canadianicon Mk1 no star excluded
