    Caliber .30 T48

Did H&R or Springfield ever produce the 500 rifles each they were contracted to produce(DA-19-020-ORD-3456)in June of 1954 and if so, what ever happened to them? I found this image of one that H&R made.

    US T48 Rifle

H&R produced 500 T48 Rifles, all with standard weight barrels but not all were selective fire. Later High Standard produced a small amount of T48 Rifles including a light weight model, all had standard weight barrels. Most of the US T48 rifles were demilled and burned but there are some examples still around, the USMC in VA had a small number too. In 1956, a few H&R T48's were rebarreled to 22/7.62mm and tested at Ft Benning. Winchester worked on a double barreled T48 in 22/T65 cal in 1956-57.
The big question is what happened to the 3200 FN FAL T48 rifles that were test in the USAicon?
