Are there suppressors? Yes. I do not know of one specifically for the 1903 22 caliber rifle. You can have the barrel threaded and buy a suppressor. Check with the local laws. Most states require to have a FFL or C&R. But every state is different.
I think he's refering to the proper Maxim supressor as if for the 1903...except for the 1922 instead.

I was referring in question of this silencer. Wasn't able to find anything about moderators for the .22 Springfields and wanted to know if anyone was familiar with that piece.
Yankee Hill makes a very good Maxim looking suppressor for .22s. It's bore is offset the centerline of the tube OD, so you can generally use the stock iron sights, but the front one may have to be move rewards a bit. Maybe not on a US Springfield M1922, though!- You may just need to thread it up to the front sight base.
I would have said an excellent Maxim style, but the tube is aluminum, not steel, so it loses a little vintage "authenticity". It is as quiet as more expensive cans.
Don't know if they ship across the pond or if there's dealers over where you are already.
ETA: Promo's in "Europe", gang! Don't assume our members are Canadian, North American or even on the Western Hemisphere!

Well, Europe is in the Western Hemisphere, isn't it?But you're right, we even got some Australian
guys around here. I live in the country that everybody gets confused with Australia due to the similiarity of their names

suppressors, are a class 3 taxable toy...no , none that i have seen or read about for the 1922 Rifle, however some were made for the 1903 in centerfire.
you can have one made and installed, by a Class 3 manufacture, a fulley suppressed barrel would be the only way to really make it work.
iv seen select fire fully suppressed Ruger 10-22,s built for the CIA..
That 10-22 would be a class act toy...you could shoot lizards in your back yard and not disturb the neighbours.

Not for a 1903 , but a modern guts copy of a Maxim on an orig. USMC modified M65 Riesing trainer aka " Rat Rifle".
Chris
I dunno that I was using you as an example of east vs. west, Promo. It just seems that folk forget we have members from all over. And we Yanks and ex-Rebs don't even seem to remember that this is a Canadianbased site.
emmagee1917's example is a close approximation of what to expect on your rifle, if you go Maxim style. The attaching nut allows you to easily index the can without timing the threads, so it's no more difficult an installation than a concentric bore sound moderator.
