    Safeties- markings and finishes

My research, such as it is, (mainly this forum and a couple of books), seems to indicate that ALL safeties, no matter when made or by whom, are parked, not blued, All of mine are (SA1903, Rem A4, Rem A3, SC A3), Poyer doesn't say and as far as I can tell from the pics on this site, they all are. Can this be?
Also, I read all kinds of apparently contradictory statements about the script style, sans serif (block letter) or serif, top or bottom, etc. What is the straight scoop? I have one Remington that the SAFE is all block except just the "e" is serif- does just one letter make it serif?
I think I'm figuring out most of the finish issues (more on this later), but this one has me going in circles.
As you might guess, I'm trying to bring these back to as near original as possible, and since they've all got original barrels it's probably worthwhile
    Thank.

Parkerizing did not come into use until 1918. Before that, quenched in oil? Have to check Brophy.

Safety Lock finishes were as follows:

RIA - water-quench casehardened, serifed letters.
SA - water-quench casehardened to 1918, blued thereafter, serifed letters to 1911, block letters thereafter.
Remington - blued to mid-1943, parkerized thereafter, serifed letters to mid-1942, mixed to mid-1943, block letters thereafter.
SC - blued in 1942, black parkerized thereafter, serifed letters.
