    Serbian carbine M1908...

Here's one you don't see too often. It's a Serbian M1908 carbine , in 7x57mm , made at the Steyr arsenal. Sort of ironic that the Austrians sold weapons to the nation that instigated the death of the heir to the Hapsburg throne. From what I've read few were made and fewer still remained in the Serb iventory after the materiel losses sustained in the Balkan Wars & WWI were tallied. Here are some pics.

    Best regards,
    Len

Congratulations on an (as far as can be seen from the photo) all matching rarity. The backsight assembly is very crisp indeed, suggesting that this is a "low-mileage" carbine, in spite of its age. This raises the question: what is the state of the bore, and how does it shoot?

    Hi Patrick,
Thanks for your comments. The bore is in excellent shape but I haven't shot it so there's nothing to report there.

    Best regards,
    Len
