I have to wonder if the fakes are getting so good that this sling may be an example of that. There are so many faked parts out there and they are getting harder to distinguish for the real thing. Kind of like seeing fake cartouches on real stocks.

Thought so too. Font size looked way off to me.
I have these IBM slings in my extra pile.

I need one of them for MY IBM, I have an orig. sling without markings, any possability of a trade?
Isn't the back side of the female fastener on that IBM sling questionable? I'm pretty new at this, but I've always associated that type with repro slings.
I don`t have an extra pile![]()
Maybe extra was a poor choice of words. How about pile of parts waiting to go onto a carbine?![]()
Here is another image showing the IBM markings. The dot next to the I makes it look like the letter L.
Most of the markings are hard to read.
Here is one new in the original wrap.
The one on eBay was probably marked back in the 1990's. Back then unmarked slings were hard to sell, but those with markings sold very fast. There are not only fake markings on legit slings, but there are also fantasy marks which never existed.
