Garand "National Match" edition

Hello folks!
Did anybody hear about Garand "National Match" edition, Springfield ? My buddy has bought a Garand in 30-06 and 'cause it is a "National Match" edition has payed...... 1,500.00 Euros!
Any news about such an edition is welcome, thank you in advance!

!500 EURO = $ 2,138.00 U.S. That could be a good price depending on what it is that your friend has. If you are speaking of a Springfield Armory built National Match rifle and you have DCM sales documents with it then it is a very good price. Without the documents it would be a bit high in the U.S. If on the other hand it is a military or civilian built match rifle then the price is not so good, again in the U.S. For anyone to give you a good idea as to what you have we would need some good pictures of not only the various NM marks parts of the rifle but also the stock barrel channel showing the last four digits of serial number and the glass bedded areas, assuming this may be a type 2 NM. If not bedded then good pictures of the stock. Also a picture of the date area of the barrel showing all markings.

By the way, my daughter lives in Bee,Verbania which I believe is not to far from Milan.

It's hard to say what is meant by National Match edition. As previously stated there were NM rifles produced by and for the military.
SA has also produced commercial Garands for some time. They probably did an NM version (similar to what they do with the M1A) but it is not currently on their web site.
We would need pics and more information to know what you really have.

I have been communicating by PM with "Blackcat" and he has told me the rifles serial number is 326xxxx. I don't know a whole lot about S.A. INC. Do you know if they used sup. U.S. receivers for there builds of there match M1 rifle ?? I think there standard M1 rifle was built on a cast receiver and had there trade mark name "Springfield Armory INC." on the heal and serial numbers were over 7 mil. Not sure about the match rifles.
Blackcat has not been able to get any pictures yet but so far, it doesn'etsound like a SA built N.M. rifle. No markings on barrel.
