Got a dilema over what I have.

Just bought a group of parts at a online auction to complete my K98icon barreled action and stock and instead got a surprise. The parts seem to be of wartime production, due to their rougher finish, and stamped parts. Only problem is the bolt and trigger guard are shorter than usual. The bolt is about 3/16" shorter than my other 1908 bolt, as is the trigger guard. The straight bolt handle has what appears to be a crown over a letter T on the bottom of the knob. Anyone know what I bought?

    Thanks, J.K.

You got parts for a 98 ''short'' action. The stamped guard is probably from a Yugoicon M48A.

M48a had a stamped floor plate only, This is a stamped guard as well like a M48B, but both were in 8MM. All of these parts have the same or similar inspector stamps which tells me that they were all from the same rifle or a similar one at least. The stamps are capital U either in a Upside down triangle, a circle, or a box, narrower at the bottom, and BK. I have pictures, but figured this might be a no brainer for the more Mauser savvy than me. also I stand corrected
on the crown stamp, which is on top of the bolt knob.
    Thanks again for looking.

Sounds like a pile of Yugoicon M98(M48) parts. They will be short and will not run on a Kar98kicon. Tough luck, can you return the parts?

Good excuse to buy a YUGO M48 and then you will have some spare parts...

That's what I love about this hobby. Seems like every purchase generates the need for another toy. Guess I'll just have to start shopping for a Yugoicon with a missing bolt.
    Thanks for the replies.

He got some parts from a 24/47. Note, he said in his original post: "the straight bolt handle."
