    1882 RIA workers ID Token

A co-worker brought in a jar of gold and silver coins he found in a uncles house ( Lucky Dog)
mostly mid 1800's stuff. I found a copper or bronze token 1.5 inches in diameter with the crossed cannons, flaming bomb and RIA accross bottom. The rear has 1882 and a number stamped in. A quick google search shows a worthpoint.com ad showing one that clearly a fake and describing it as a workers ID badge/token. I would like to buy it, what is it worth? Whats a fair offer?

There would be a number of varieties with these old tokens, some would be common and some extremely rare. Almost impossible to price accurately since non-monetary tokens are a very small sub-group of numismatics. If it was me I'd offer 50$ and take a gamble on it. That would most likely be a rather generous offer unless more details come to light. Particularly the item's provenance.

Reallistically though, it's most likely worth anywhere from 5 to 15 dollars on a good day ....
