Marines of the 1st Provisional Brigade sit in pouring rain while one of them uses a radio for communication during a lull in the fighting for the Orote Pennisula.

Collins mfg. model # 18 fighting knife with it's leather sheath. Also known as the "type 2 " , the "V-44" and the "Gung Ho " knife. 9-1/2 inch blade with a green or black horn handle. The cross piece has a little ball on each end. USMC issue.

I still can't tell either way, it's too small a pic for me. Either one sort of matches and could be there.
    Regards, Jim
