The Enfield Sales Ledger is illegible for rifle 628 - ir almost looks as if it was written in and then tried to have it erased.
627 and 629 went to Abu Dhabi but that does not mean that 628 went there.
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...
But be rest assured................. now that it's gone to ground, there's a cynics possibility that it might turn up again as a clone - together with a good story about why it was obliterated from the register!
Interesting that some went to Abu Dhabi - I knew there were some Hong Kong ones but that's fairly exotic.
Re cloning - I think enforcers are like 4ts in this respect - in general any fakery or major changes/rebuilds do have some tell tale signs.
ROF Leeds, or at least that is what it says in the list that Simon had access to. Some of the details are illegible, though, such as the 'extract' & 'AIN' headings.
Don't ask me how.....I promised someone a long time ago that I wouldn't kiss & tell......

Simon's doing OK, I hope!
He's been mighty quiet lately. But he did log on several days ago.
I haven't seen or heard anything of Simon since the motorbike museum arms fair over here about a month ago, but he's fine so far as I know. He's been very busy refurbishing a house, although I think it's done now, so perhaps we'll 'see' a bit more of him again.....

Yep I'm back. As Roger says I've been some what preoccupied for the last twelve month but hopefully things will settle down now.
Cheers,
Simon.
