I just recently purchased a type 99 in NRA VG condition, with matching bynoet from a ww2 marine vet. He picked it up from the battlefield and sent it home. All parts match. Only one problem I'm having in indentification. It is a early model with the antiaircraft sights, chrome bore, monopod bracket, serial #386XX, third variation, nyoga arsenal. Sorry for the incorrect spelling
Here is the problem - above the chamber is the usual japanese for type 99. But it has no mum!!! IT has not been ground off, it just was never stamped. I cannot find any information as to the missing mum. Can any one help.Information
