    John C. Garand Question

I'm really fascinated by Mr. Garand, but have not been able to find any sort of detailed and comprehensive biography about him.

Is there such a book? I've got most of the major works on the M1icon Garand, with the exception of Hatcher's "Book of the Garand" but I was just wondering if anyone has ever published a book on Mr. Garand himself.

Thanks for any information you can supply.

Well, any book on the Garandicon rifle will have a version of his biography. The basic facts will be the same, but vary in quality and detail.

Canadianicon-born, moved in New Englandicon (like tens of thousands of others), found a job at Springfield, worked forever to perfect his rifle. Overrated as a designer in my opinion.

A friend just sent me this link....it features Mr. Garandicon describing his work and the history of the firearms made at the Springfield Armory, Mr. Garand's remarks begin at around 6 minutes into the video.
