It went cheap because only some of the parts were correct for assembly. Lots of replacements there. It could have been way more!

I think you were lucky to get out. Almost $ 2000.00 for a rifle with only the barrel and receiver being correct. The op-rod is correct, rev. number wise, but it's been cut. No front sight seal. Think about how much the correct GHS stock and the flush nut sights will cost, not to mention all the other parts. I think you got out at the right time. Am I missing something here or am I that far behind in current prices ??

The receiver has been annealed which would not be correct for an early 1941 restoration. The cost of a SA GHS stock, rear sight group, bolt, op rod gas cylinder etc would almost run between $1500 to $2000 and you still would have the annealed receiver
