    New No. 4 MKII

I again gave in to my addiction for milsurps and bid on a No. 4 MKII at a recent online estate sale. I won the darn thing and it is on its way.

    Here are the auction pics:

    Description advised as follows:
Britishicon No. 4 Mark 2 In Caliber .303 Brit. (D-272). This 1957 dated rifle is as new with a few handling mars. Bore is new. All numbers match. SN-A18460

    Very nice.
Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

    Well, it is a 1957..

    Thanks, guys.

It arrived today. I thought it was a 1955, but, as described, it is a 1957.

A lot of "F56" stamps on the wood and metal.

    Bore is outstanding

Beautiful rifle!! Somebody please correct me if I am wrong, but the "F 57 FTR" only confirms that this rifle went through a "Factory Thorough Repair" in 1957, not that it was made in 1957.

That is a beautiful rifle. Am I mistaken or were MK II's all made with lighter furniture than the MK 1 or Mk 1*'s? It seems to me that every MK II I've seen has had the same color furniture as the one posted here.
