    4 for a start

Sometimes I become tired of being serious, so several of my rifles have cutesy names: Eddy, Roma, The Mahdi, Heidi. They have all featured in the forums at some time - a search will reveal what they are - but you have probably already guessed!

I suppose "Eddy" is a P14? I can't figure out who Heidi is at a mere guess though, but I like the name.

    Naming secrets revealed!

Eddy is an Eddystone M1917. Very solid, very accurate
Roma is a very pretty Carcano M91/41. "Bella figura".
The Mahdi is an Egyptian Rolling Block. Polished by desert sand.
And Heidi is a Swissicon G96-11. The best open sights.

    More to guess...

I also have Henry and the Wobbly.

    Have a guess!
(They have also appeared in the appropriate forums)

    2 out of 2

    Bingo!

    Henry ("The name's Henry, Martini-Henry")
is indeed an M-H MkIV in perfect "arsenal mint" condition, i.e. dinged on the outside, but mint on the inside - so much better for shooting than the other way around!

And the Wobbly is a low-mileage Mk VI Webley that came with an original Rifle Brigade black leather holster. So to be fair to the revolver, you should think of wobbly as referring to the shooter!

I like wobbly. It kind sums it up, doesn't it.
