    Question Russian WWII belt?

I bought a belt advertised as a Russianicon belt used in WWII. It's brown leather, well-worn and smelled musty. The buckle is square and hollow with two prongs for two rows of holes. Inside near the buckle is "HOYT (or BOYT?) - 44". Is it legitimate? Was this possibly made under the Lend-Lease program with the US?
