My new late war Inland

I posted this on the CMP forum and thought I would share here too.

I bought this last weekend at a local gun show and I believe it is all correct. Some highlights include the T2 unmarked barrel band, a B-L-C barrel dated 2/44 for my 8/44 Inland with a MW of 1.5 (CC reports that some 2/44 barrels can be found on carbines built six-months later). The HI stock & handguard are in real nice shape other than a few gouges probably from indifferent handling at some stage of its life. No rebuild mark. It came super clean, so whoever owned this in the past knew how to take care of a gun.

This one looks like it came right from a military arsenal rack....circa 1946!

I am one happy camper and I will never change anything on my late war bring back.

Sorry, I should have mentioned it. The serial # is 5463xxx. CC says it was manufactured in Aug. 44.

On the xx recoil plate screw, I'm at a loss though I was told on the CMP forum that another member has owned Inland carbines with the xx screws.

Looks great! I need an explanation on the xx recoil plate screws. Are they correct for both late Inland and Winchester? Too lazy to do a search. - Thanks, Bob

On top of it's immaculate, unmolested condition, I've always liked T-2 bands the best of all.
I agree - it looks as if it escaped being messed with. I used to have a late Inland like that and even though it had the last parts it was the pride of all my guns.

My DCM 6m 2-45 Inland has 'xx' marked recoil tang screw.

Those were the first I've seen with the 'X' stamps like that, Tom. Do you know what they represent by chance? (Inspector or something maybe)

That is an amazing Inland! I actually would not shoot that one - just preserve it.

The xx marked recoil plate screws are normally associated with Winchesters, however late Inland carbines are known to have them as well. I own two late Inlands that I believe to be original guns and they both have the xx screws. BTW, looks like a super nice carbine-thanks for the pictures.
