    civil war bayonet

    I just got a bayonet for the springfield rifled musket it has a leather scabbard with metal tip. Should the scabbard have a metal incert inside the scabbard? or should it just be the leather

    Just the leather. The frogs on the M1855 scabbards were stitched or stitched with 2 rivets or 6 to 9 rivets.
