    TWO for ONE??

I seem to be questioning myself on whether to sell two of my pristine post war Garands so I can purchase One 1942 all correct I don't believe restored Garandicon. I know I said on this forum I would rather have 2-3 rebuilt as opposed to one really nice collectable one, but this one was jaw dropping as I have never seen one like it except in books .

I did not take it apart but what I could see it had lock bar sights cover over front sight barrel with in 1month (upside down ) correct cartouched all matching wood and metal with matching wear. Round screw with single slot plug and grooved hand guard clip.

I think I'm going to put mine in the paper today and see what I can do. I'll still have 14 it's just I'll be giving up 2 of my most correct cartouched all matching post war baby's.

I don't know about you but they are like family to me.

The Post WWII rifles are far easier to find, though. An all correct 1942 is extremely tough to find. And can still be shot a bit, but if you're squeamish, just temporarily swap out the op rod and the stock for range duty.

Sounds like a good plan to me.

If I found one that's correct and 1942 I'd be all over it Dave. Just me, but I'd rather have a few rare, correct guns than a bunch of rebuilt mixmasters.

Everyone is different with this though. Is it an even trade? I'd think you get some money back though - I wouldn't trade for lesser value, but I'd trade for lesser guns.

I have one of each, one original(the pics are around here someplace) and one mixmaster rebarrel to 7.62. I don't intend to part with either one and feel I have the best of both.(worlds)

We talked for quite awhile and he said he would sell to me for 1300 down from 1500. He knew I would not buy it that day and said he wasn't trying that hard so I would have some time to raise some funds. If he sells it he said he has a 1941 in the same condition. He did not say if it was the same price, but time will tell.
